HarvestIn selecting fruit for Loos Family® wines, we seek grapes displaying phenolic maturity and physiological ripeness. Harvest timing is based primarily upon taste although we also consider other factors. By sampling the grapes and seeds we get a sense of the quality and flavors the final wine will exude. We look for the loosening of the grape skin and darkening of the seeds. We also watch important indicators like acidity and sugar content. We rigorously sort the grapes to eliminate all but the best grapes. Attention to detail is extremely important. This pursuit of perfection means that when you open a bottle of Loos Family® wine you are experiencing a unique expression of wine that only the best grapes can offer. |
